Jargon is extremely positive for a soccer referee.  They have acronyms that shorten phrases or words, this makes it so they don't have to take the time to keep repeating the long worded calls that are made by them.  This language is easily understood by the players, coaches, and other referees on the field.  It is a simple language for them to use, but for others who don't know much about soccer may become easily confused.  The acronyms for different kinds of kicks are very helpful, because then a referee doesn't have to drag on with a long name for a single kick, instead they can just mention the acronym and the players on the field will be able to know exactly what the referee is talking about.  Referees use tons of jargon to communicate with one another and for them it really makes it easier.

Soccer referees would still continue with their job even without jargon.  Yes, jargon makes calling the game easier to referees, but they could still do without it.  Without jargon in the life of a soccer referee, they would have to take the time to say the call that they made, there would be no shortened phrases. The spectators that come to enjoy the entertainment of the game, would be able to probably understand most of the calls made by the referee.  That could be a positive thing for some spectators of the game, if there were no jargon words used by a soccer referee.  All in all, jargon should be kept in the occupation of a soccer referee, because it helps the communication flow better on the field.

Most likely jargon will evolve in the future for a soccer referee.  New words will be added to the jargon of a soccer referee in the future.  They will be added to benefit the referees communication to one another.  New acronyms for different terms in soccer will probably come in the near future.  These terms will be learned by the referees and it will help them out by making the calls quicker.  Jargon will hopefully stay in the occupation of a soccer referee.
